ModPerl.pl: ...where persistent camels roam...

Welcome to ModPerl.pl

We haven't decided exactly what to do with this web site yet, but we're leaning towards setting up an online community of mod_perl developers.  This web site is written using mod_perl2, with some dependencies on libapreq2, and every web page is a pure perl script that is handled directly by ModPerl.

Do you enjoy how quickly this web page loads?  Although that is one of the great benefits of ModPerl, there is so much more that it can do.  For instance, dynamic web page content that is generated based on multiple database backends using the DBI and/or DBIC (DBIx::Class and friends) modules are a great place to start.

If you are new to mod_perl, then please know that we're recommending you start with the newest version of mod_perl (which is currently mod_perl2).  The API went through some significant changes, which have improved mod_perl greatly.

We are taking suggestions for additional links, and would also like to create a list of web sites that are using mod_perl, in the near future.
